Sport Management Students ‘Experience’ the Division II National Football Championship
26 undergraduate students and two graduate students in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas A&M University-Commerce assisted the Lone Star Conference, NCAA, and McKinney ISD with the 2019 Division II Football Championship at McKinney ISD Stadium on Saturday, December 21. This participation gave students experiential learning in the B.S. in Sport & Recreation Management and M.S. in International Sport Management programs. Students were responsible for staffing the merchandise stores on both sides of the stadium for the duration of the championship. Their advisors, Dr. Clay Bolton and Dr. Samantha Roberts, served as hosts for the hospitality suite for administration, boosters, and guests of West Florida University, the 2019 National Champions. A&M-Commerce defeated West Florida University in Kansas City in 2017.
