Students Selected for NASW Texas State Conference
Texas A&M University-Commerce students Bethany Golio and Tori Pettit recently went to Costa Rica as a part of the university's study abroad program. In addition to being social work majors, Golio and Pettit are participants of our Global Scholar program and members of the National Society of Leadership and Success. We are happy to report that they submitted a research poster proposal for the National Association of Social Workers Texas State Conference and were accepted.
This presentation is very important for the students as it gives them opportunities to network with one thousand other individuals involved in social work and learn from hundreds of other presentations related to the subject. Golio and Pettit will present their research posters in Galveston, Texas in November 2015. The title of their presentation is: Enhancing Cultural Humility and Self-Awareness through Innovative Teaching Techniques: A Study Abroad Course in Costa Rica For Social Work Students.
Keep up the good work!
