Sueltz, Storey Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

East Texas A&M University soccer scholar-athletes Melissa Storey and Kristen Sueltz were named to the Academic All-District team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Storey (Tyne and Wear, England) and Sueltz (The Colony, Texas) are among 14 honorees around the Southland Conference. They are the 12th and 13th honorees in program history.

Wrapping up her five-year Lion career, Storey was named to the Academic All-District team for the first time. In her Lion career, she was named to the all-conference teams twice, led the Lions to a runner-up finish in the Southland Conference Tournament twice and is top 10 all-time in career matches played.

She is a business administration major who has been named to the dean’s list and the Southland Conference All-Academic team.

Sueltz played in every minute in her sophomore season this season for the Lions, leading East Texas A&M to a Southland Conference Tournament runner-up finish and scoring the match-winner in the quarterfinal round as well. She ranks top 20 in program history in most matches and minutes played in a single season and fourth most in matches started in a season.

She is a public health major, a dean’s list honoree and a Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient, and is an executive officer for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
