TAMUC Alum Appointed by Governor Abbott to State Council

An alum of Texas A&M University-Commerce was recently appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the Crime Victims' Institute Advisory Council. Jeffery “JD” Robertson of Wimberley, Texas, was announced as an appointee along with seven others in August. The council is charged with conducting an in-depth analysis of the impact of crime on victims, close relatives of deceased victims, guardians of victims and society. Robertson graduated from A&M-Commerce with an M.S. in Applied Criminology in 2016 and also holds degrees from the Community College of the Air Force and the University of Maryland. Robertson is currently a consultant with JD Robertson Consulting, having previously retired from the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency after 27 years on the force, serving as a commander of the Texas Rangers Special Operations Group.
