TAMUC Alum Named CFO of Wichita Falls, Texas

Texas A&M University-Commerce alum Stephen Calvert was recently announced as the new chief financial officer for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. Calvert, who previously worked for the city as a senior budget analyst, assumed the role on January 5. Calvert previously worked in the healthcare industry, serving in financial-related positions for several hospital systems. Calvert graduated from A&M-Commerce with a Master of Business Administration degree in 2003. Before that, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2000. According to a city press release, he is also a volunteer with the North Texas Area United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and a deacon at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. The city, which is the county seat of Wichita County, boasted a population of 102,316 in the 2020 United States Census and is also home to Sheppard Air Force Base, which serves as the city’s top employer.
