TAMUC Alumna Named Director of Operations for Veterans Pardners
A&M-Commerce alumna Donna Richardson has been named director of operations for Veterans Pardners, according to a recent article in The Lakelander newspaper in Whitney, Texas. Veterans Pardners is a non-profit organization that helps veterans in rural Hill County access resources.
Richardson earned her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from A&M-Commerce in 2015, graduating on her 50th birthday. In recent correspondence with the Office of Alumni Engagement at the university, Richardson said she wants to encourage others to get their degree—no matter their age—so they can find a career they love. Richardson said she is using her skills and education from A&M-Commerce to take Veterans Pardners to the next level.
“I was actually challenged [to earn my degree] by my five children,” Richardson said. “They didn’t see the point of furthering their education because I didn’t…I graduated from TAMUC with honors, setting the bar high for my kids and grandkids.”
To date, four of Richardson’s five children have also earned their college degrees.
