TAMUC Healthcare Leadership Program Forging the Next Generation of Industry Leaders
Texas A&M University-Commerce is proud to highlight the ongoing success of its Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership program, which continues to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry.
One of the program's standout students, Jana Connerley, has recently been accepted into the prestigious Doctorate in Healthcare Administration program at Oklahoma State University, exemplifying the program's effectiveness in preparing graduates for advanced academic opportunities and leadership roles.
Connerley's academic journey began at A&M-Commerce in January 2024 when she enrolled in the Healthcare Leadership program. With more than a decade of experience in the healthcare field, including roles as a radiology technologist and supervisor, she sought to advance her career and make a significant impact in healthcare leadership. Attracted by the College of Business' outstanding reputation and the unique opportunities offered, she chose to pursue her graduate studies at the university.
“The M.S. in Healthcare Leadership at A&M-Commerce has been instrumental in shaping my career trajectory,” Connerley said. “The insights and skills I've gained have not only enhanced my professional capabilities, but also prepared me for the next phase of my academic journey. I'm thrilled to continue my education, and I credit much of my success to the foundation laid by the professors in the College of Business.”
Connerley's journey at A&M-Commerce has been marked by a commitment to excellence, balancing her rigorous academic coursework with her responsibilities as a full-time healthcare professional and mother of five. Her success in the master’s program and her acceptance into a doctoral program serve as powerful examples of what can be achieved through dedication and the support of a strong academic community.
The Healthcare Leadership program is designed to address the growing demand for skilled healthcare leaders. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application, catering to professionals who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Through its focus on leadership, administration and strategic thinking, the program empowers students to make meaningful contributions to their organizations and the broader healthcare industry.
Dr. Gregory Lubiani, associate professor of management, emphasized the significance of the program.
“Our Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership program is designed to cultivate leaders who are equipped to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry,” Lubiani said. “Jana's acceptance into a highly respected doctoral program is a testament to the strength of our curriculum and the commitment of our students. We are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing the continued success of our graduates.”
