TAMUC Scholar-Athlete Tapped for Second-Team All-Academic Honors

A&M-Commerce scholar-athlete Casey Novelo earned Southland Conference second team all-academic honors for men's cross country in 2023, according to an announcement from Lion Athletics.

Novelo is a junior majoring in electrical engineering. He is a President's List honoree named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll twice.

Candidates for all-academic distinction must hold a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA through the semester prior to the sport's championship, complete at least one full academic year at the nominating school prior to the current season, and participate in at least half of the team's competitions during the most recently completed season.
