TAMUC to be Represented by Pair of Anglers at National Fishing Tournament
Texas A&M University-Commerce students Dawson Cassidy and Gus McLarry qualified to compete in the Carhartt Bassmaster College National Championship as representatives of the A&M-Commerce Fishing Club. The national fishing tournament is scheduled for August 12-14 on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, New York. The largest tournament in college fishing, this competition will also be recorded and broadcast on the FS1 network later this year. Participants must qualify for the tournament either by being ranked in the top 20 nationally or by finishing in the top 10 at a sanctioned tournament. Cassidy and McLarry punched their ticket to the event with a ninth place finish at a tournament held in Cullman, Alabama in May 2021. This is the second time both Cassidy and McLarry have qualified for nationals, securing a 27th place finish in last year's competition.
