Williams Named to Volleyball Mag’s “Coaching Hotshots” List
COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball assistant coach Morgan Williams has been named to the “Coaching Hotshots” list by VolleyballMag.
Williams, who is entering her second year on the Lion coaching staff, is one of three honorees from the Southland Conference. In her first season at A&M-Commerce, she helped the Lions clinch a postseason berth for the 12th consecutive wins, as well as marquee non-conference wins over Alabama and UAB.
“I am thrilled and excited for Morgan being recognized in her first year,” said coach Joe Morales. “She has taken ownership of this program and has been a valuable part of our successes and our future.”
Before arriving to A&M-Commerce, she served as the head coach for the Force Volleyball Club, which is one of the elite volleyball clubs in the state, for seven years. Williams won two Southland Championships as a player at A&M-Corpus Christi.
Morales added, “there was never a doubt in my mind of how good she is and how great she will be for years to come. Her commitment and relationships to our student-athletes and our program are unwavering. I am forever grateful that she joined as my assistant. Congrats Morgan!”
