A Conversation with Amanda Lowe
How do you help students?
When students visit the Alumni Center, I inform them about the Alumni Association and what we provide. We also have Student Alumni Ambassadors and student workers who I am able to support. I look forward to continuing to meet students and serve as a mentor to them.
What makes A&M-Commerce unique?
We are a D1 school in a small town with a family feel.
Why did you choose your career/what draws you to your discipline?
I chose my career because A&M-Commerce transformed my life. As Director of Alumni Engagement, I am able to share my story and network with many others who have similar stories. I enjoy hearing those stories and sharing how we, as alumni, can give back and support current and future students while enjoying great perks for being Alumni Association members. A&M-Commerce is a very special place, and I'm happy to serve here.
Tell us about an accomplishment you are proud of:Â
I am proud to have been selected as one of five out of 25 teachers for the competitive Principal Fellows Cohort grant with the Texas Education Agency, Greenville ISD and Texas Tech University, which allowed me to obtain a second master's degree in August 2020. I am a life-long learner who tries to learn something new every day.
