I love knowing that the work I do is helping to make a difference in someone’s life, even when I can’t see the result. When I go home each day, I feel very satisfied with my work and its impact on my community.

A Conversation with Ancy
What would you tell a student who is considering A&M-Commerce?
When I arrived in America, A&M-Commerce represented a new life. It marked the beginning of my life as an adult living in a new country, earning my degree and beginning my career.
A&M-Commerce was the perfect place for me to do all of that. I instantly connected with the campus and the people. There were so many outreach and support groups to help me navigate college life, apply for scholarships and find my people. And I loved the school spirit!
At this university, I've always felt like I belong. It has meant so much in my life.
And I know it can do the same for you!
What do you like most about your career?
I love knowing that the work I do is helping to make a difference in someone's life, even when I can't see the result. When I go home each day, I feel very satisfied with my work and its impact on my community.
How do you help students at A&M-Commerce?
I enjoy cultivating relationships that let us learn from our shared experiences. Listening to students and learning about their experiences and concerns helps me grow in my ability to help them.
In my role, I help students find solutions for staying on track to earn their degrees. Life happens, and sometimes, we need a second chance. I'm really grateful for the chance to help students make the most of their second chance the way that I did.
