Leadership Philosophy Statement

Leadership is a career-long journey of self-discovery and learning from others. I believe in mentoring and developing those who work for me to fulfill the purpose of the University Police Department. I believe that all effective leaders are in debt to those who helped mold them and therefore they have a duty to teach, mold, develop others in return.

I will seek to inspire others through personal interactions so that I can pass on my passion for the line of work. Through this, I hope that the employees gain a basic understanding of the importance of the work we do so that we can affect as many lives as possible for the good.

Through the core values of trust, purpose, mentoring and integrity, we as a profession can develop the true principles of leadership.  I believe that with an attitude of service to others, I can learn how to be more influential with employees and guide them in providing professional service to the public.
