Georgia Kornegay Adjunct Instructor of Choral Music Education, Associate Choral Director

Georgia Kornegay taught choral music, both middle school and high school, in Texas public schools for 37 years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University and Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Texas State University.
Ms. Kornegay serves as a judge for UIL events, a professional development clinician, a conductor and an accompanist for numerous choir events around the state. She has served as the Middle School/Jr. High Vice President of the Texas Choral Directors Association from 1999-2001, and as the Region III Vocal Division Secretary from 2003 – 2015.
She and her husband, Dean, have been married forty-one years and are the parents of two grown children and the grandparents of five. She also serves as the church pianist and the director of orchestra at First Baptist Church of Garland, Texas.
