Leadership Philosophy Statement

True leadership can only be obtained by respect and influence of those you lead. Leadership is most impactful by example. One cannot expect to lead others on a journey to an unknown destination; you must set an expectation and goal that can be visualized. A leader must be aware of their own strengths and weaknesses; know who they are, who they are not and be genuine in all facets of life. Trust is the foundation of leadership.

As a leader, I will enlist and empower others. I will invest in others. I will continue to strive to build and maintain trust among those I work alongside. I will accept being uncomfortable at times if this allows me to confront and correct someone to prevent their failure, as failure to hold those around you accountable to maintain your own comfort is selfish.

My goal is to be both a servant and transformative leader–authentic, communicative, a model of integrity and compassion. My desire is to put others first, while continually working to improve myself, to inspire and motivate and provide an ethical framework for decision making to help shape our organization's future success.
