Leadership Philosophy Statement
Leadership is using ownership in your actions and how you empower your team. Giving those who follow you the autonomy to take ownership of a task allows them to take pride in their work and feel the joy of succeeding, encouraging your team to develop the skills necessary to take charge if you are no longer in command.
As a leader, I will embody the mindset of total ownership in my actions by owning my mistakes and those of my team. I will train and foster them as they grow into future leaders. If a mistake is made, I will be understanding and give them a path to success.
I will practice empowerment through ownership by allowing my team to gain the independent experience needed to grow. I will acknowledge and commend the personal initiative of those around me. I will also provide opportunities for them to make their own choices, supporting them in those choices and guiding them toward the right decision if a mistake is made. This reassurance and guidance will build their confidence and resilience.
