Jewelz Demps, originally hailing from Forney, TX, brings a distinctive blend of technical proficiency and legal insights to his current advisory role. Jewelz’ earlier professional experiences, ranging from Technician/Help Desk support for Forney Independent School District to a position as a Judicial Intern, have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of student needs, ethical considerations and the importance of procedural fairness. Beyond the professional realm, Jewelz finds solace and joy in immersing himself in the game of football, consistently seeking opportunities for learning and improvement through dedicated training. Quality time with friends and family holds paramount importance. When asked about his favorite spot in Commerce, Jewelz unequivocally points to the Whitley Gym Weight Room and Memorial Stadium – the core of his year-round dedication, setting the stage for the magic to unfold on Saturdays in the fall. Jewelz cites his mother, Dr. Patricia Demps, as the ultimate role model, highlighting her unwavering strength, determination and values as a guiding force that shapes Jewelz’ journey and propels him toward a pursuit of excellence in all facets of life.

How can I help you?

As a Graduate Assistant and Hearing Officer, I ensure that students’ rights and responsibilities are upheld fairly and justly. By adjudicating cases and implementing educational sanctions and programs, I aim to promote personal growth and accountability within our university community.

What do you like most about your career?

What I cherish most is the opportunity to guide and shape students’ educational experiences. Being able to contribute to a safe and respectful campus environment is insightfully rewarding.

What is an important life lesson you have learned?

One crucial lesson I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance. Facing challenges, whether academic or personal, has taught me resilience. Every obstacle presents an opportunity for growth.
