Leanna Vannoy transferred from Texas A&M University to East Texas A&M University to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and her first grandchild. She chose to transfer instead of seeking a new opportunity because she loves working for the A&M System and the atmosphere it provides.

Vannoy loves animals and reports having a soft spot for all of them. She has a rescue cat named Whiskey and a Shih-Tzu, Bella, who both make her smile every day.

What do you like most about your career?

I love helping people. Assisting students and colleagues makes me happy. I enjoy the challenges that come with learning new things.

How do you help students at East Texas A&M University?

The Honors College is focused on helping students succeed through their college careers and into their future. We provide events, learning opportunities and support throughout their time at ETAMU.  We strive to help students achieve excellence and seek to bring camaraderie and fun to these amazing years of college.
