A Conversation with Mahreen
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is working alongside dedicated staff and teachers to create solutions for this incredible institution. It brings me great joy to contribute to the university that has played such a significant role in my own growth and education. Being able to give back in a way that makes a difference is deeply fulfilling.
How did you become a Business Technical Analyst? What earlier positions/jobs did you have that prepared you for this?
I began my career as a student worker at Lion Athletics, where I was inspired by the energy and talent of student-athletes who achieved remarkable victories. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and dedication. Later, I joined CITE as a graduate assistant, where I enhanced my technical skills, allowing me to take on more responsibilities. Then I worked my way up to the business analyst role, where I derive impactful solutions within the IT department.
What is your favorite spot in Commerce and why?
My favorite spot in Commerce is by the lake on campus. It’s the perfect place to relax or hang out with friends, with an amazing view of ducks swimming peacefully in the water. The comfortable, shaded seating area makes it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings.
