Melissa Davis holds a Master's in Applied Linguistics from A&M-Commerce and is currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics with a focus on TESOL, also at A&M-Commerce. With fifteen years of experience teaching ESL to international students and in Texas public schools, she prioritizes a student-centered approach in her teaching. She currently works at Region 8 Education Service Center as an ESL consultant for grades 6-12. Her professional development and research interests include crip linguistics, content-based language instruction (CBLI), universal design for learning (UDL), neurodivergence in ESL and support for newcomers/immigrants and their teachers.
