Nicole Askew is a native of Commerce, comes from a family with a strong educational background, and is the daughter of two East Texas State University alumni. Nicole has more than 15 years of experience in higher education. Before stepping into the Chief of Staff role, she served as the Special Program Coordinator in the Office of University Partnerships, leading the development and implementation of special programs and initiatives aligned with the university's strategic goals. She has also provided exemplary service to the Department of Curriculum & Instruction and the Office of the Registrar. Nicole is also a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce.

What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending A&M-Commerce?
While attending A&M-Commerce you are not only obtaining an outstanding education, but students will also have a strong family foundation. What do you like most about your career?
It excites me to be in a position that allows me to assist students in any way possible. Being an employee as well as a current student allows me to experience both worlds. I want students to know that if there's anything I can do to make their lives easier while pursuing their education here at A&M-Commerce, I'm more than happy to help.
How do you help students at A&M-Commerce?
I help students by first listening to their wants, needs and opinions. I feel this plays a big role in ensuring students are well-taken care of. When a student leaves my office with a smile on their face, I’m overjoyed knowing I have successfully helped with that student's needs.
