I am a peer mentor on campus.
Why do you think it is important to get involved on campus?
Getting involved on campus will open doors for improving social skills, networking opportunities, and building relationships with others who hold similar interests.
What do you think the role of a Peer Mentor is?
I would say that the role of a Peer Mentor is to help students with concerns or obstacles surrounding college, help them achieve goals and help improve their college experience. What’s a valuable piece of advice you might give a student at ETAMU?
I understand that this is a simple and redundant piece of advice, but I would say going to class is extremely valuable. Not only does it hold you accountable by continuing to go to class, but it builds discipline, and opportunities to receive essential information in order to grow knowledge and create connections with professors.
