Transform Your Future
The East Texas A&M Education and Human Services Academy at Dallas College is a unique partnership bringing transformative instruction to Dallas students interested in education and human services. As an Education and Human Services Academy student, you may be eligible to take courses toward your bachelor's degree while completing your course work at Dallas College, including some courses taught directly by East Texas A&M faculty. You will complete your first two years in Dallas before transferring to East Texas A&M full time.

Education (BA/BS) Elementary Emphasis (Grade EC-6)
Choose from ECE-6 Generalist, ECE-6 Bilingual Generalist, or ECE-6 Special Education
Education (BA/BS) Middle School Emphasis (Grade 4-8)
Our bachelor's degree with middle school certification offers a number of specialties, allowing you to concentrate on specific interests. Learn to design engaging lessons, develop curriculum for all students and foster a welcoming learning environment.
Education (BA/BS) Special Education
A graduate with special education certification should possess the following competencies: knowledge of disabling conditions; knowledge of professional roles, strategies for promoting learning and development; and techniques to promote achievement in English language arts, reading and math.
Mathematics (BS) Teaching Emphasis
A degree in mathematics along with a teacher certification will allow you to combine your interest and passion for mathematics with influencing and shaping the lives of the next generation.
Hispanic Studies (BA) Teaching Emphasis
Our program encourages and equips Spanish educators. No matter your proficiency level, we have language courses designed for you. You’ll study the history, politics, social structures and traditions of Spain and Latin America. Our combined Spanish and teaching program prepares you for the high school classroom. You’ll take courses in methods for teaching Spanish, issues in Spanish literature and culture, and Hispanic linguistics. After graduating, you’ll be certified to teach Spanish at the secondary level (grades 7-12).
Learning and Technologies (BS)
The Bachelor of Science in Learning and Technology equips entry-level personnel in the field of eLearning (adult training and development) for practice in public education, private education, business, industry and non-profit organizations. Learning and technology are intertwined to develop next-generation trainers and leaders who implement technology and learning strategies across a variety of curricula and classrooms.
Kinesiology and Sports Studies (BS) Teaching Emphasis
Physical Education Teacher Education – all-level certification is designed to prepare teachers for early childhood through grade twelve in physical education.
Nursing (BSN)
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program enables you to integrate scientific knowledge from theory and research, high-level skills, and concepts of leadership into the care of individuals, families and groups. When you successfully complete our pre-licensure program, you meet the educational requirements of the Texas Board of Nursing to take the licensure examination to become Registered Nurses.
Psychology (BS)
The Bachelor of Science in psychology explores human behavior and cognition. This major trains students for a variety of careers such as government and non-profit organizations. Students are prepared to pursue graduate study in psychology and for careers in psychology-related fields.
Social Work (BSW)
Our faculty brings a wealth of expertise, research, and practical experience in social work, covering essential areas like social welfare and social justice. You’ll have the chance to learn from passionate instructors who are deeply committed to social work education and advancing the profession. With a variety of courses to choose from, you’ll be well-prepared to make a meaningful impact in the field.
Human Services (BA/BS)
A bachelor's degree in human services from East Texas A&M will put you on course for a wide range of occupations with foundations in counseling.
Eligibility and Admission
Students completing their first two years of coursework at Dallas College and students with AAS credentials in education and human services fields are encouraged to consider joining the East Texas A&M University Education and Human Services Academy.
As an Education and Human Services Academy student, you may be eligible to take courses toward your bachelor’s degree while completing your course work at Dallas College, including some courses taught directly by East Texas A&M faculty. You will complete your first two years in Dallas before transferring to East Texas A&M full-time.
Ready to join the academy? You must first apply and be accepted to Dallas College. After acceptance, you will be connected to your East Texas A&M success team, who will guide you through the East Texas A&M Education and Human Services Academy.

Program Costs
Tuition and fees for undergraduate students taking 12 credit hours are $4,212 for Texas residents and $9,108 for non-residents.
Transfer pathway/curriculUm
Once you have joined the East Texas A&M Education and Human Services Academy, you can enroll in pathway core curriculum courses at any one of the Dallas College campuses. Some courses may also be taught by East Texas A&M faculty.
In one or two years, depending on the time it takes to complete these early courses, you will transition to East Texas A&M to complete your bachelor's degree in the highly ranked College of Education and Human Services.
