Learn how to teach in a diverse classroom through our English as a Second Language (ESL) Specialization. You’ll discover better ways to deliver instruction that benefits all students. Study the cognitive, linguistic and social needs of ESL students to ensure content delivery is inclusive and effective. Our specialization does not require you to know another language, but we encourage you to pursue language learning. Students majoring in Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education, Reading or Secondary Education may earn this certificate as part of their graduate program.

- Be admitted to a graduate program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and major in Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education, Reading or Secondary Education
