Social Welfare Minor
Social Welfare Minor
Social welfare is a good choice for students majoring in related disciplines who may wish to work in health or human services settings.

At East Texas A&M, you will develop the skills to evaluate the effectiveness of social agencies and policy. Learn from professionals who provide examples from their work in a variety of social work contexts, including aging, child welfare, education and courts and corrections.
Admission Requirements
If you are a current undergraduate student pursuing a major in a related discipline at East Texas A&M, you can easily add this minor to your course of study.
Minor Requirements
This minor consists of 18 credit hours to help prepare you for work in health or human services settings.
Required courses include:
- SWK 2361: Introduction to Social Work
- SWK 2389: Academic Cooperative
- SWK 2362: Social Welfare: Legislation, Programs, and Services
- SWK 322: Human Behavior and the Social Environment
- SWK 328: Social Welfare Policy and Services
