Improve User Experience Online

UX Design is about solving problems for websites, apps, products, or services by understanding and anticipating user needs. Our fully online graduate certificate equips you with skills to collect, understand and present different types of data using industry-standard tools like NVivo, Tableau and Adobe XD. Through hands-on projects, you’ll build a portfolio and present a product pitch to industry experts to gain valuable storytelling experience.

Program Requirements

Students must be admitted to the Graduate School. Coursework must be completed at Texas A&M University-Commerce with a 3.0 GPA in all courses used for this graduate certificate. (No Substitutions)

You must submit a Completion of Certification Request while taking your final graduate certificate courses.

Provisional Status

After you submit your application, you may be granted provisional status, which means you can enroll in one semester of courses. You will not be eligible for financial aid until you submit all of your documents and are accepted into the program.

  • We recommend that you request transcripts for all of your academic work.

All international transcripts must be evaluated and the evaluation submitted to the Graduate School.

We accept evaluations sent directly from the following Agencies.

  • If a normal evaluation is submitted, official original transcripts with all marksheets will still need to be submitted.
  • If a WES ICAP or equivalent is submitted, we will not need the official transcripts to be submitted separately.

Integrate social media, search marketing, e-commerce, mobile and other emerging formats of digital marketing. You will gain an understanding of how to apply these formats to achieve business objectives and how to assess emerging trends. Contemporary challenges surrounding acquiring customers, generating leads, customer loyalty, brand building, customer relationships, analytics and analyzing consumer behavior in the digital marketplace will be investigated.

Writing with Digital Media ENG 611

A practicum on composing original essays with digital media, including video, sound and images. This course is designed for advanced students and those new to writing with digital tools. You will explore a range of tools, concepts and models for composing with digital media, as well as ethical considerations associated with the creation and sharing of multimodal texts, including the role to be played by the digital humanities. You will demonstrate that understanding by assembling and sharing your original examples of digital storytelling in video, sound, images or other modalities.

In this digital age, it is becoming essential for people to understand how to leverage data and generate insights that have the power to change the world. Data analysis, visualization and storytelling are indispensable skills for communications, engineering, managing and marketing professionals. You will learn the fundamentals of storytelling concepts, narrative theories, methods for research, cleaning and analyzing datasets, and focus on developing stories using Tableau and other creative data tools.

Qualitative Methodology SOC 577

This course provides an introduction to the use of qualitative methods such as ethnographic research, focus groups, historical/comparative research, content analysis and grounded theory. In addition to addressing philosophical foundations, this course provides hands-on practice in the common strategies to access and collect data (e.g. observation, interviewing, archival data); methods of organizing and representing different forms/genres of data for analysis (e.g. transcripts, electronic texts, images, hand-written notes); and strategies to analyze and represent your analyses for academic audiences.
