“When it came time to choose a college, my home for the next four years, Commerce was the easy answer. Here, I am a member of the Honors College and a proud member of the rodeo team. Last year, as a freshman, I finished second in the region in breakaway roping, punching my ticket for the College National Finals Rodeo. At the CNFR, I finished 13th in the world. This accomplishment would not have been possible without professors who understand my seriousness with rodeo and a coach who understands the importance of academia. I am majoring in Animal Science with a concentration of Pre-Veterinary Medicine, so maintaining my 4.0 GPA is just as important as doing well in the arena.
