Rising Lion: Your summer launchpad to college success. Take two Summer II classes at East Texas A&M Main Campus, July 8-Aug 8, and score tips, tricks, and friends to crush your first year of college. It's all about resources, support, and confidence.

Summer Financial Aid
Ensure eligibility for Summer II and 2024-2025 financial aid by submitting both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 FAFSA or TASFA applications. This is only required for students needing financial assistance.
Program Costs for Summer 2024
Students participating in the Rising Lion Program will pay regular Summer II tuition and fees, housing and meal plan costs. The figures shown below are from Summer 2024.

Note: Students participating in the Rising Lion Program must submit the 2023-2024 FAFSA or TASFA to be considered for summer financial aid. Students must also submit the 2024-2025 FAFSA or TASFA for fall 2024.

PRIORITY DEADLINE TO CONFIRM YOUR PARTICIPATION
Joining the Rising Lion Program is easy! You will receive an invitation to confirm your participation via your student applicant portal. The priority deadline to accept the invitation to join the program and complete FAFSA or TASFA (if applicable) is JUNE 15.

Rising Lion FAQs
What classes will I take during the Rising Lion Program?
The courses offered will be a part of the East Texas A&M general education core curriculum which are required for a bachelor’s degree. Classes include math, science, English and history. Based on placement scores, some students may also take developmental courses.
When does the Rising Lion Program begin and end, and when should I move to campus?
The Rising Lion program begins during the Summer II semester. If you participate in the Rising Lion program, participants are required to live on-campus for the duration of the program.Â
Who decides which two courses I will enroll in?
All Rising Lion participants are contacted directly by their advisor to register for courses.Â
What are the minimum requirements to join the Rising Lion Program?
All eligible students will receive an invitation to join the Rising Lion Program via the student applicant portal.
What if I have vacation plans, a family reunion etc. during the time of the Rising Lion Program?
Due to the abbreviated length of the program, missing just one class could be detrimental to your success. Â We suggest you plan your vacations around the Summer II semester.
How much does it cost to participate in the Rising Lion Program?
Students participating in the Rising Lion Program will pay regular Summer II semester tuition and fees costs. Those students attending will also pay Summer II housing and meal plan costs.
